LOL this is so close to what I did. I never been much into pvp, not even ab and that. So I bought the amber from players at 3k each, thats around 200k for the full set.
Then I go to vasburg and talk to the armor crafter, realising my bag is full of crap so I cant hold a set of armor. Guess what? I sold some crap to the armor crafter along with my amber lol....sigh.....cry

+30 seconds to post that.
Early on in the game my second char a warrior lost his pants. I guess I accidentally dropped them in town and somebody picked them up or I zoned away from them. Presearing was fun in a War with no pants. Well at least until I got the collectors armor.

Guild Wars has always had one of the worst communities in a game; that's just another facet of failure it's gained.

Guild War's community really isn't any better or worse than any other community. Anet just handled it poorly by not having any official place for feedback, instead relying on fan-based sites, then misinterpreting the feedback given, and listening to the loudest crowds over anyone else, thus encouraging more whiny behavior.

Can't really blame them, they just feel that they are giving the majority of their customers what they want...

How do you all manage to get hacked? You REALLY have to be careless and not very bright to give your password out or fall for some sort of scam..

Thats the thing, they didn't go with what the majority of customers wanted, they went with what the majority of customers thought they wanted.
I am reminded of way back in the day someone posted a thread asking for obsidian armor to get something like +5% armor bonus just in PvE. After playing for so long to get the armor, that it not having a bonus made them feel shortchanged. Obviously they are right, so a token buff, hell even a substantial buff that makes obsidian armor mandatory is clearly what will get them playing the same content over again, after they just complained about being bored with the same content. What this person wanted was a gear grinding game; there is no fault in wanting that, WoW does quite well, Diablo and all its clones are fun to play, regular RPG players want some type of grind, but Guild Wars is just not that type of game. Take a look at where they did add in grind heavy mechanics (titles, books) and see the backlash and lack of satisfaction from those.
This isn't unique to video games. Consumers can tell you that they like something or that they dislike something, but they are very hard pressed to give you accurate information of what individual things they do or do not like. Anet only looked at the surface of feedback rather than looking deeper through it.
This is what I object to the most and my biggest disappointment with Anet as a developer, they don't seem to be able to recognize actual problems and address them.

I can vouch for Operation Flashpoint 2. The GW Community compared to OpFlash2 is comparing chewing on gum to chewing on thumbtacks.

Not a loss, per se, but I just accidentally give the Tihark Orchard guy 5k instead of the Rare Antique Elonian Vase (selling it for 5k if anyone wants it! ...).
